A stripped tree trunk stands between your armchair and the Christmas tree, its two natural branches reaching in opposite directions at different heights. From the upper branch on the left, a braided rope drops down holding a wide mushroom cap that glows warm amber, its gill lines casting a pool of golden light onto the armchair below. From the lower branch on the right, a second rope suspends a smaller cap, its own gill glow lighting the coffee table, the gingerbread cookies, and the cup of hot cocoa. Natural Tree Trunk with Two Branches

The trunk is a solid piece of wood with the bark stripped away, revealing the golden heartwood underneath with its knot holes, grain swirls, and the smooth ridges where bark once clung. Two natural branches grow from the trunk at different heights and in opposite directions, creating a balanced, asymmetric silhouette. The upper branch reaches left and slightly upward. The lower branch reaches right and slightly downward. The branches are part of the original tree, not attached or grafted. Finding a trunk with two branches at the right positions, angles, and lengths is the primary sourcing challenge for this lamp. Every surface is sanded smooth and finished in a unified warm golden honey tone with natural oil.

Two Suspended Gill Glow Caps

Each branch tip holds a hand-forged brass fitting from which a braided natural rope hangs, suspending a polished mushroom cap face-down. The upper cap is wide and conical, spreading a broad pool of ambient light. The lower cap is smaller and rounder, casting a tighter, more focused reading glow.

Both caps have hand-carved gill lines radiating underneath from center to rim. Built-in LEDs shine through the carved channels, projecting warm 2700K rays in gentle sunburst patterns downward onto the furniture and floor below. Both caps are dimmable independently, allowing different light levels for reading, ambient atmosphere, or a soft evening glow with just one cap lit.

The pendant suspension allows each cap to sway gently with air movement, adding a living, breathing quality to the light.

Braided Rope and Brass Fittings

The suspension ropes are natural braided fibers in a warm tan tone. The brass fittings at each branch tip and each cap attachment point are hand-forged with an antique patina. Electrical micro-cords run inside each rope, through the branches, down the trunk, and out through the base.

Solid Wood Base

The base is a thick, rounded rectangle of solid wood, matching the trunk in species and tone. It is wide and heavy enough to anchor the trunk and both hanging caps. The softly rounded edges and smooth finish complement the organic form above. A felt pad protects the floor.
